Prayer Requests
Praise God for the Mercy in Our Lives
It seems as though we are apologizing yet again for our tardiness in getting our letters out. We have basically spent the last few months trying to attend to our son Winn as he battled, maybe his most fierce battle with mental illness. On Monday, July 15, 2024, Winn went home to be with the Lord. As we stand right here, it is bittersweet. We will miss him always and our hearts are broken because he is not with us anymore. Yet in the midst of all the grief and our new normal without Winn, we rejoice that he is totally healed and finally at peace, at home.
We are praising the Lord for His mercy in our lives. I had two heart stents the week before Winn went home to be with the Lord, and just this past week, I had a pacemaker implanted. All you can say is I still have work to do. Pray for us as we keep moving forward in everything God has for us to do personally and as we move forward with HNA.
Thank you to all for the prayers, cards, phone calls, and the love we have felt through all of this. And for those of you who didn’t know about Winn, we know without a shadow of doubt that you prayed for us faithfully and though you didn’t know, God strengthened us through your prayers. Thank you.
As we all walk through this journey together, the hard times, the trying times, and the good times, we know that our God is absolutely in control. He doesn’t sleep or slumber, and nothing takes Him by surprise, so as we center ourselves on Him and His truths, through it all, we can stand. It is a privilege to be a part of this work alongside each of you who pray and give financially so that this work can continue. On this morning of new mercies from the Lord, we must keep putting one foot in front of the other and look ahead, so we don’t miss what God has for the work of HNA. May we look to Him for the opportunities and the victories as we press on!
Thank you for your faithfulness through prayers and financial giving to HNA and your partnership in the Gospel. May we see many of our family and friends across the USA come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior by getting back to the basics of sharing our faith. We want to thank you for always being faithful to pray for Carolyn and me.
Much love and prayers,
Doyle and Carolyn
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not, They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24
Harvest Zoom in Christ Project Update
A side note from Moacir’s Report, our Harvest Zoom in Christ project with the Baptist Brazilian Church in Illinois, seems to have become not only a continuous project, but it is reaching out to Brazil and Brazil is stepping up to share their faith in our HNA Zoom in Christ project!
September 21st, the Pastor called Moacir and said he had a couple who wanted to hear about Christ. They only spoke Portuguese and Moacir needed a couple to share with them. He spoke with a connection he has in Baptist community in Brazil and they had the perfect couple.
Long story short, the couple in Brazil witnessed to the couple in Chicago, IL who both received Christ as their personal Savior! We can’t wait to see how God will continue to use HNA through Zoom in Christ!
So, in the first portion of this HNA Zoom in Christ Project with Chicago, 7 people came to know our Lord!!! Can you only imagine the celebration that is still taking place, not only here, but in heaven?
His Blessings,
Carolyn
Harvest Zoom in Christ Report
from Moacir Rodrigues
HNA had a confirmed project with the Chicago Baptist Brazilian Church in Illinois for March 2020. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the world encountered uncertain times and we had to postpone the in person project that was planned to protect the health of our participants and the church.
In June 2020, we discussed and agreed upon a new pilot project called “Zoom in Christ”. Instead of in-person visits, we would be making virtual visits via Zoom. God is great, so the possibilities of sharing the Gospel are endless. We agreed to share with three different group.
On July 29, 2020, we conducted our first/pilot Zoom visit (first group). Doyle, Moacir, and Pastor Ademir shared the Gospel with Anderson.
On August 26, 2020, we conducted our last Zoom in Christ for the first group.
The results for the first group:
- We spoke with a total of 13 people for the first group.
- The first group for the pilot project took place over 27 days.
- The pilot project was 100% successful. Anderson (our very first visit) later went to church to share his own testimony and was baptized on September 13, 2020.
- Nine people rededicated their lives to Christ, began attending church, and returned to God’s word.
- Five accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- Two people were baptized on September 13, 2020. The church took them out to dinner on Saturday night to discuss the baptism for Sunday (please see the picture below). During my Zoom meeting* with the church leaders on Sunday morning, I was given permission share the picture.
- 38% got saved out of 100% of our dedication to share the gospel.
- We covered three continents (North America, South America, & Europe) with this Zoom in Christ project.
- We worked in four countries (USA, Brazil, Germany, and Switzerland).
After meeting with church leaders on September 13, 2020, we will begin group two (people who have been a bit more hesitant to hear the gospel) on September 14, 2020. I made the completion date for this second portion of the project as October 10, 2020.
Upon completion of group two, we will evaluate and report. Then we will begin group three (people who are against the gospel). The plan is to complete this third portion of the project by mid-November.
The Best Is Yet Come!
A Tribute to Jerry German
I Corinthians 15:58 ……….”steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…….”
For those who knew Jerry, they will give testimony to the fact of his living out this Scripture.
Jerry served faithfully as a Board Member of Harvest North America. Still water runs deep and that was Jerry. We could always count on him if we needed anything.
Jerry was an awesome Husband and Dad to his Family and to me and Carolyn, he was always our very dear friend. We will miss him, but we know that we will be with him again in Glory when we too see our Lord.
