The Blessings of Our Fall Board Meeting

What a joy and blessing our Fall Board Meeting was!  We used the meeting program Zoom for the first time.  It allowed the ones who could not attend the meeting in Cleburne, TX in person to be remotely smack dab in the middle of our meeting and it was great. We are moving right into the 21st century.  A little late, but none the less we are getting there.

That brings me to some exciting news and blessings that came out of our meeting.  Pastor Jim Gregory serves as Pastor of Mountain Home Baptist Church in Idaho where he has the privilege to minister to many couples who come through Mountain Home Air Force Base.  At Jim’s recommendation of two military couples to join our Board, whom he had pastored, the Board unanimously extended an invitation to those couples.  Both couples graciously accepted to be a part of 2018 Board of Directors.  Captain Daniel McGinnis-Welsh and his wife Jessica from Albuquerque, New Mexico and Captain Wes Sheppard and his wife Kristen from Las Vegas, Nevada.  These two young couples will bring many gifts and talents to the table enhancing the work of HNA.  We are so grateful!

Dan and Jess Welsh were able to be at the HNA Board Meeting last month.  It was great to get to know them and see their heart for the Lord.  Wes and Kristen were not able to attend because of prior commitments.  We’ve asked each couple to give a brief introduction of themselves so that you would know a little more about how to pray for them.   We will hear from the Sheppard’s next month.  The following is a brief introduction from Dan and Jess Welsh.  Please be in prayer for both these young families as they commit to serve not only their country but the work of HNA.

Dan and Jess live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with their two children (Eleanor and Calvin). They will welcome their third child (Beatrice) this December. Dan is an active duty military officer who has a passion to teach and preach God’s word.  He holds a M.A.T.S. degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and plans to finish his M.Div. in the near future. Jess puts her Early Childhood development degree to great use as a stay at home mom. She also serves as a member of the worship team and loves to use her gift of hospitality to intentionally bring the redeemed and the unsaved into the regular presence of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are continuing to prepare for our next RTN/HNA project that will take place in March 2019.  Pray for this tremendous opportunity and for HNA as we work through new endeavors to enlist churches throughout the year.  Although we know our work with SWBTS is absolutely a God given opportunity, we want to focus on our Traditional Church Growth Harvest projects as well.

Thank you for praying and always standing with HNA through your support.  We pray God’s blessings on you!

Blessings to you all,
Doyle and Carolyn
